Tears for friends and family lost in Cumbria shooting

An emotional memorial service was held in Whitehaven to remember the victims of gunman Derrick Bird, who went on a shooting rampage in west Cumbria previous Wednesday. Twelve candles, twelve victims. No one would have thought that Derrick Bird, who seemed to be an everyday taxi driver, would be capable of doing the unthinkable. Over one-hundred people, who consisted of family members and friends, gathered at the memorial service in search for consolation and support from close ones. Despite their strength however, there is no question that this community will never forget Wednesday the 2nd of June.

First of all I would like to say that I think it is horrible for what has happened previous Wednesday. In one way I think it is a beautiful thing to see relatives and loved ones come together to support each other in times like these. Yet I cannot understand why someone in their right mind would decide to do something as horrible and abdominal as this. It seems that some people will remain selfish and will not be able to understand how much pain and suffering their actions have caused. As for the relatives of the deceased ones; I hope that someday you will be able to find peace and acceptance.
